Genderless baby…

A curious piece of news about parents from Toronto who aren’t telling anyone whether their child is a boy or a girl. They keep saying they want to let the baby make the choice of the gender himself/herself.
I don’t think it’s good for the baby. Of course there are people who consider that their gender identity does not correspond to their biological sex, but it doesn’t excuse the parents who are treating their kid as an «it». It seems to me they are aiming to get publicity via a cruel experiement that can cause psychic damage to their child.
The only thing I agree with is the saying «If you really want to get to know someone, you don’t ask what’s between their legs». But the quote has nothing to do with the case…
